The Do’s and Don’ts of Social Media

By Joryn Jenkins

First, do you use social media to tell your collaborative story? If you don’t, why not? Is it because you don’t know how? Because, when it first became “a thing,” you thought it would fade away, as most fads do. And you failed to unpack that excuse as the years passed you by?

Or is it because you tried it and just sort of forgot about it a few months later when you ran out of ideas?

Or because you just don’t have the time?

I, too, have used these excuses to rationalize why I didn’t use social media. But it’s now been years since I decided to bite the bullet, open a few carefully selected social media accounts, and get consistent with my sharing. Now have a steady stream of clients each week calling me to schedule consults. And they all tell me it’s because of my social media presence. On Facebook. On LinkedIn. On Twitter.

And, next week, on TikTok. Yes, I’ve decided to bite that bullet and next week will be creating my TikTok account. (I even had to research how to correctly state that, lol.)

So, if you are not now using the power of social media, I can help you get started.

If you are using social media, I can show you how to take it to the next level.

My Champion Collaborative Toolkit shows you how to build your story, how to share that story, and how to generate the kinds of blogs and social media posts that will draw in the followers who will become your clients. Perhaps more importantly, you’ll make “friends” who will refer you clients, as well.

My goal is to change the way the world gets divorced. I’ve spent the last 10 years refining my marketing skills and I want to share everything I’ve learned with you, both the good and, yes, the bad, my mistakes along the way so you can avoid them. Then you, too, can find and help those wanting a kinder and gentler divorce. People like Alexis, who went out of her way to leave a review on Open Palm Law’s Google page:

Joryn and her team are absolutely amazing. They are down to earth and answer every question you have in your head almost before you ask it. Joryn has these amazing posters on the wall that walk you through every step and option when thinking about a divorce that takes the guess work out of the divorce roadmap. Very thankful to have found Open Palm Law!

And Bruce, who said:

Getting divorced after nearly 30 years of marriage was devastating. Not only that, I had no idea where to start or what our options were. I wanted to make the process as painless as possible for me, my wife, and our children. Joryn’s posters demonstrated why a collaborative divorce would be less adversarial, shorter, and end up costing us less. The process still wasn’t easy, but we were able to get through it with dignity and mutual respect and have a positive start as our family began our post-divorce lives.

Don’t get me wrong; social media is not magic (although I’ll agree all day long that collaborative practice is magic!) Finding success in social media is a step-by-step process. And, while I must agree that it’s work, of a sort, my Collaborative Toolkit makes it easy, staying one step ahead of you, laying out the path, keeping you out of the weeds and the potholes, and helping you to grow your practice with the clients you want.

I’m so committed to supporting my fellow collaborative professionals that I’ll even let you pay for it over time. And, if you follow my program and you don’t generate more in fees than you spent on my Collaborative Toolkit, I’ll give you your money back.
