In the beginning, Ms. Jenkins worked for one of the ten largest law firms in the country in its Washington, D.C. office. After nearly three years practicing in all aspects of regulatory law, she took a break from big firm life to work exclusively for one of her own clients on a class action involving more than fifty sex discrimination claims in California. ROBYN BONIVICH | ASSOCIATE TRIAL ATTORNEY
Bill Parsons is the business operations manager for Open Palm. This means that he is the go-to person who ensures that the day-to-day operations of the law firm work smoothly, from information technology to building maintenance to ensuring that clients and employees all have a positive experience when they interact with the law firm.
Bill had a non-traditional educational experience. In his junior year of high school, he was chosen to attend the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a special scholarship program for advanced students. He graduated from high school while attending MIT, studying computer science, then in its infancy, and mathematics.
During this time, Bill enrolled in a work-study program for the Polaroid Company. He was chosen by Dr. Land (as in Polaroid Land Camera) to begin work on the project to create self-developing instant film. He stayed on for four years after graduating before moving on to his next interest, zoology. CONTINUE READING…
MEGAN DALRYMPLE | LEGAL ASSISTANT
Megan recently joined Open Palm Law, bringing with her many talents. As someone who previously managed her own business, she brings to the table outstanding time management and organizational skills. Keeping her focus on the highest caliber of customer relations, she is always problem solving and ensuring the prosperity of our clients. Megan graduated from University of South Florida in 2006 with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently is completing her Post Bachelorette in Paralegal Studies at St. Petersburg College with a 4.0 GPA. In her free time this Florida native volunteers with local organizations helping to empower women to create a better life!
ELIZABETH MILLER | LAW FIRM ADMINISTRATOR
Sheila moved to Tampa in 1980, where she fell in love with the weather and beautiful beaches! After working as an executive assistant/office manager for companies in engineering and marketing, and as associate vice president for a local bank consulting firm, Sheila landed at Open Palm in February 2000. It was to be a temporary job, but her interest with the legal profession grew as she learned about family law and bankruptcy, attending numerous CLE classes and accompanying Joryn to court, so she embarked on a new professional career.
She especially enjoys working with the attorneys on pro bono cases; she feels it is very important to give back to the community! In addition to becoming the legal assistant, Sheila serves as the office manager and assists in the day-to-day administrative needs of the firm, including human resources, and accounts receivable and payable.
She has been instrumental in updating and streamlining office procedures, as well as in the hiring and training of several different office assistants. CONTINUE READING…
LORI SKIPPER | OF COUNSEL, COLLABORATIVE ATTORNEY
Lori received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in December 2004, from which she graduated with honors. As a law student member of the Virgil B. Hawkins Civil Clinic, Lori assisted indigent clients with family law issues. She also received the Estates and Trusts Certificate for her intensive coursework in that practice area.
Proud to be a Florida Gator, Lori had also attended the University of Florida as an undergraduate. In May 2001, she graduated with honors from Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, as well as a Minor in Education. While there, Lori volunteered at the Alachua County Crisis Center, was a Kappa Delta, and participated in many philanthropic events, such as Dance Marathon. CONTINUE READING…
